    Woman's two piece afternoon dress in dark royal blue velvet. The dress has an oval neckline outlined with iridescent dark blue beads, and an elaborate bib-type ornament in front. It has an un-beaded back, and short sleeves. The waist-length jacket is of matching fabric, and has three quarter length sleeves with turn-back cuffs. Has matching purse #68.259.001. Worn by donor at the affair honoring her husband's appointment to the United Nations in 1954.

The skirt is very full and deeply smocked at hip level fitting into the waistline with scallops. It has a back zipper. It has a matching stole with fringed edges and an organdy petticoat.
