Velvet Dinner Dress with Loose Surplice Brocade Top, 1935
Dinner dress of dusty blue velvet with blue and gold metallic brocade top. The bodice has wrap around pendants to give a criss-cross effect in the front. This garment was owned by Matilda Dodge Wilson (October 19, 1883 – September 19, 1967),who was the wife of John Francis Dodge (October 25, 1864 – January 14, 1920), co-founder of the Dodge Motor Car Company in Detroit, Michigan.

Men's Slippers, 1830-1860
"Undies", or casual morning wear to be worn at home, could be quite decorative and fancy in the 19th century. Loose fitting sacques or morning dress for women could be quite elaborate, including elegant footwear. Men, too, enjoyed robes and slippers that could be quite elaborate. Berlin work patterns for slippers were exceedingly popular circa 1850. These slippers are both expensive and quite elaborate for a middle-class man around 1850. They appear little worn. Wedding Dress, 1918
This dress was worn by Virginia Palmer Bradfield Ward for her wedding in 1918. It was an exquisite, expensive gown. It remains in remarkably good condition. The overskirt feels like rayon, which may help to explain the excellent condition of the piece. Virginia Palmer Bradfield Ward was born 1897 in Grand Rapids, MI. Eggshell satin wedding gown from the 1920s
This woman's eggshell satin wedding gown has an irregular length, with a scalloped hem that is lower in the back than in the front. It has long, straight sleeves that snap at their scalloped cuffs. The gown has a wide round neckline, and a dropped waist with scalloped piping. The gathered skirt is shirred with silk cord, and has a pearl bow positioned at its center front.
