ALL-AMERICAN FENCER --- Wayne State University fencing coach Istvan Danosi (left) gives some last minute instructions to All-American saberman John Miller as the Tartars prepare for the N.C.A.A. fencing championships March 24-25, at Princeton, N.J.
Miller, a native of England, placed fifth in the saber competition at the national tournament last year when he led Wayne State to fourth place in the team standings. This season the Tartar swordsmen compiled a perfect 14-0 won-lost record and were the No. 1 team in the midwest. Wayne State has won its last 21 dual matches and has lost only five of 43 during the past three seasons. Coach Danosi's other two entries in the N.C.A.A. tourney will be Sandy Weinstein in epee and Nick Markakis in foil.…
