Follow up letter from Florence Nightingale to Gen. Maj. George Fife
Nightingale begins by thanking Gen. Maj. Fife for materials she used to write reports and expressed interest in a particular article. She stated that she would like to meet with him to obtain his opinion on various matters having to do with irrigation and sanitary systems and procedures within areas of India where British soldiers were stationed and treated in hospitals.

Nightingale was concerned with the possibility that the Public Works will lose funds and that the poorest, with no voice, wwould suffer without adequate water and irrigation. She requested a meeting with Lt. Gen. Fife, asking if he would do so the following Monday at 5pm, as she was unable to reschedule other events on her calendar.

Top is long, over blouse fitted at waist. Narrow stand-up collar. Long fitted sleeves. End of sleeves and bottom edge of blouse trimmed with ruffle of same material. Buttons all the way down the front. Round black buttons with faceted surfaces.
