Herman Miller Sling Sofa
This Sofa, in the collection of The Henry Ford, consists of six (three on the back and three on the seat) black leather upholstered cushions attached by snaps to a black rubber sling under the seat and across the back. The frame is made of tubular polished chrome lined with black vinyl seating on four tubular chrome legs with metal glides. This piece is also known as a Nelson Sling Sofa. 1901 Packard Model C
8x10 black and white photograph from a glass negative of a 1901 Packard Model C. Inscribed on photo back: 1-cylinder, 12-horsepower, 75-inch wheelbase, 2-person roadster with fitted buggy top. The driver is Milton Tibbetts, Packard's collector/protector of patents. The passenger is Russell Huff, head of Packard experimental branch. This car, license plate 30122 NY, was repurchased from the owner for use in testimony in a 1910 lawsuit.
