Masonic medal maker Francis Shallus (1774-1821) was born in Philadelphia, the son of a Revolutionary War officer.He was an active engraver in Philadelphia from 1797 to 1821. Well known as the author of the Chronological Tables, for Every Day in the Year, which was published in 1817,he was also active in politics and militia affairs.He and his wife Ann operated a circulating library in Philadelphia, which she continued to operate for several years after his death on November 12, 1821.The Freemaso…
