Eloise Ramsey Collection of Literature for Young People
The Eloise Ramsey Collection of Literature for Young People was named for its creator, Eloise Ramsey. Ramsey was a Professor of English Education at Wayne State University, where she taught for 36 years. Ramsey believed that it was important for future teachers to take courses in children's literature. Silk Organdy Party Dress, 1934
White silk organdy party dress with full skirt with two flounces of shite taffeta. Skirt is edged in cordered taffeta. Dress is lined in silver lame. A forerunner to the strapless dress, this dress is held up by the neckline. This item was owned by Frances Dodge (November 27, 1914 – January 24, 1971), who was the eldest daughter of John Francis Dodge (co-founder of Dodge Motor Company) and his third wife, Matilda Rausch Dodge (Wilson).
