Camp at Larkensville Ala Jan 23 1864 Dear Cousins
I wones [once] moar [more] take my pen in hand to let you [k]now that I am well and hope theas [these] few liens will find you the same well henry the reason that I write to you this mourning [morning] is I want you to send me one dolares [dollars] [worth?] of [postage stamps] as quick as you git [get] this letter four [for] I wont then write of and I will send the money in this letters we have got fine weather hear [here] this mourning [morning] for this time of the year it seanes [seems] like spring this moarning [morning] all though that is plenty of [illegible] hear [here] now henry I cant think of much to write this now don’t for git [forget] to send them write of I wont then write of you will heft [have?] to pay the [postage] on this letter for I haint got now [no] stamps when you put the stamps in the letters [illegible] keep one out well henry now [no] moar [more] for this time but still remain your cousin A Van Riper To Henry A Van Riper Direct to Co B 47 Regt […]
