I now take my pen in hand to lett [let] you know that iam well and hope that this will find you all the same
I am out ofe [of] work know [now] and don’t expect to git [get] ennore more [anymore] in this place joust [just?] know Nate has got a boy and his mans is Evart Taylor well Henry I wish I was thare [there] for I mite [might] git [get] work thare [there] if you think I cod [could] git [get] work thare [there] I wish you would write and let [let] me know wright [right] a way and I will do as mouch [much] fore [for] you some time I want to learn the blacksmith but had to [give it up] fore [for] I coding [couldn’t] stand horse shoeingNo more at presand [present] but still remain your Cousins A W van Riper To H A Van Riper Writer as soon as you git this
