Ophir Jan the 22 1860 Dear Nephew
I take my pen to write a few lines to you as I found a letter for you from Mary I thought I would send it to you and write a few lines to let you know that we are all well and the wheater [weather] is quite warm you have forgotten your promise to write to us you must write and let us know how you get along and where you are I think you had better go to Marys if you can do as well as she thinks you can unless you have got in something better there if you see Van Palmenly tell him to write to me what he will come and work for me by the month for this season for I want to get a good hand if I can tell him to write soon if he will come write soon and let us know how all the folks got along no more this time but still remain your UncleH.A. Van Riper
