Some content, including the item here, have similar titles. This type of overlap many times has origins in the item's original physical form. For example, with the Virtual Motor City Collection, photographs were grouped in envelopes with a few descriptive words written on the front. Those words then formed the basis for titles.
This Platform Bench, in the collection of The Henry Ford, consists of an ebonized wood slat top that sits on a base made of two ebonized wood quadrangles. The quadrangles are slightly larger at the top verse the bottom. The Platform can be used for seating or as a base for all cases. [Source: ca. 1948 Herman Miller, Inc.
