Embroidered Taffeta Two-Piece Evening Gown, 1938

White two-piece evening gown. Both the dress and jacket are of re-embroidered lace over white taffeta. Accents of color are added with turquoise blue satin pendants on the back and ribbon on the sides under the lace. All lace is piped in white satin. This garment was owned by Matilda Dodge Wilson (October 19, 1883 – September 19, 1967),who was the wife of John Francis Dodge (October 25, 1864 – January 14, 1920), co-founder of the Dodge Motor Car Company in Detroit, Michigan.
